Cover: All of these groups had their anniversary concerts this autumn, the youngest “Vellamon tyttäret” (Daugters of Vellamo) their 30th and the oldest this year was Wind Band “Kajastus” (Shimmer), 115 years.

Wind Band Music: Hanna Kolari’s article is about the Military Music School and Conscript Band of the Finnish Defence Fosces. The Military Music School operates in the Hennala Garrison area in Lahti. Niilo Gustafsson (picture) is a member of one of our bands. (p.2)

(p.3) We arrange a National Wind Band competition in Tampere with TamPu (Tampere Wind Band Association). Ruskatrööttä was an event in Eastern Finland with about 400 amateur musicians of all age.

Choirs: (p.4-5) Vaasa Choirfestival in May is the biggest choir event next year. The Festival awaits participants from Germany and all Scandinavia. It is also “Ton i Norden” and “IDOCO” Festival.
